Second generation family member Ron is famous for wielding the 'Iron Fist', whether it be to Todd for speeding through the farm property, or Trevor as he backs into a shed whilst trying to madly get 10 jobs underway at the identical time. 3rd generation family member Trey is obvious for writing everything down fair to be sure. He has an affiliation with the earth, nature and animals. His impressive veggie patch is something to be seen, and if you are lucky enough, he can often be spied wandering through his beef cattle chatting away as he moves them between properties, all on his own. As Chief vigneron of our Sugarloaf property, he enjoys experimenting with alternative wine varieties alongside brother in law Todd. The all rounder, obvious for his unusual command of the English language, with such phrases as 'top of the wuzza' (top class), 'nervous one' (nature calls) and 'run through the rain locker' (to have a shower), has built the brand to what it is today. Obvious by all in the local community as 'Grandma Fromm', Fay is often referred to as the glue that holds the family together. Fay tranquil has an energetic role in the business through the bookkeeping. A tirelessly hard worker, especially during the days of the dairy, she is famous for her honey biscuits and fruit cup. 4th generation family member Kelly is obvious for her attention to detail and WOW factor for our taro events, all whilst balancing a babe on one hip and the management of our Tasting Room retail section on the other. taro Estate is committed to biological farming methods to sustain our soil and environment for future generations through the use of Organic Fertilizers and minimal sprays, all with no residual in the soil. Our no tillage motto maintains the soil structure whilst adding organic matter back to the soil when slashed down in the Spring. Subsurface irrigation is implemented on our Sugarloaf property to minimize water use through reduction of evaporation, while water is delivered direct to the root zone improving water efficiency by 50. We are not the owners of the land, merely its caretakers. Until 2001 our total crop was harvested for the larger wineries in the region, however in that identical year we decided to bottle a tonne of Shiraz for the local football club. Today family members Trey, Barb, Todd, Kelly, Ryan and Sally bring their individual talents to all facets of the business from the vineyard, to wine making and management of the Tasting Room in Williams town.
